Meet The Team Behind OctoScope
OUR STORY
Our journey began with a close friend, Vivian, who runs a small startup producing LED lighting systems. In 2021, like millions around the world, we watched in disbelief as the Ever Given cargo vessel became lodged in the Suez Canal. The blockage pose detrimental economic and environmental consequences across global supply chains. — For our friend Vivian, semiconductor shipment was severely delayed, preventing her from fulfilling a major order, shaking her customers’ confidence and dealing a heavy blow to her business.
As we inquired further, we learned her experience wasn’t unique. Global waterway monitoring systems were outdated and ineffective, offering little support for environmental protection, debris detection, or incident prevention. Inspired by Vivian’s setback, we envisioned a solution capable of continuously monitoring canals in real time, preventing disruptions before they escalate, and supporting environmental recovery after incidents occur. A system designed to protect both ecosystems and the industries that depend on them.
OctoScope was born from this vision, a scalable, eco conscious equipment that enhances the safety, cleanliness, and resilience of global waterways.
Our name captures our purpose: “Octo” inspired by the intelligent, adaptable octopus, while “Scope” symbolizing vision, and detection. Together, they represent our commitment to safeguarding the world’s waterways – to protect, observe, and assess hidden threats beneath the surface.
